What are EasyFit contact lenses?
Acculens EasyFit Lifestyle contacts are revolutionary lenses designed to provide superior comfort and improved, stable vision throughout the day.
What are they made of?
These are large-diameter, custom lenses that allow more oxygen to reach your corneas to keep your
eyes healthier.
What is Hydra-PEG coating?
All EasyFit lenses are coated with Tangible™ Hydra-PEG, a breakthrough contact lens coating designed to address
lens discomfort by increasing surface water retention and lubricity. This makes lenses feel smoother and remain moist throughout the day.
Are EasyFit lenses comfortable?
This is the number one reason patients choose EasyFit. Contact lenses can dry your eyes, causing irritation and lens fogging. EasyFit with Hydra-PEG inhibits the evaporation that causes so much discomfort. With better moisture retention you can enjoy your lenses all day.
How do they improve my vision?
These high-definition, high-contrast lenses provide superior optics, giving you sharp, clear vision throughout the day, and helping you see better at night. Because they are larger and don’t shift easily, they also provide exceptionally stable vision without the frequent blurring or fogging experienced with traditional contacts.
Are they healthy for my eyes?
EasyFit lenses can provide patients with better overall eye health. They allow 2X to 4X more oxygen absorption, keeping your corneas healthy and comfortable. They also block more of the sun’s ultraviolet rays with both UVA and UVB protection.
Who should consider wearing EasyFit lenses?
These lenses are an excellent choice for contact lens wearers with all types of visual needs:
- astigmatics
- Dry eye patients
- Sports and active lifestyles enthusiasts
- New contact lens patients
- Dissatisfied soft lens wearers
- Intolerant GP users
Can I wear them all day?
Most patients can generally wear the lenses 14 or more hours a day without that sore or tired-eye feeling some patients experience from soft contacts
Can I sleep in them?
It is recommended that you remove, clean and store your lenses in their cases before going to bed.
What about sports?
EasyFit lenses stay stable in your eyes and provide clear vision, which means they can be ideal for sports activities.
They also are better at keeping out dust and debris. It is recommended, however, that you never wear contacts while swimming. We’ll be glad to discuss your athletic needs with you.
I just can’t wear contact lenses. What makes these better?
If you have contact lens discomfort, you are not alone. Up to half of contact lens wearers experience discomfort with some frequency or magnitude, but EasyFit lenses with Hydra-PEG coating offer new hope. This revolutionary technology should serve to significantly improve your contact lens-wearing experience.
I have an astigmatism. Can I wear EasyFit?
Yes. EasyFit lenses can correct the vision problems related to astigmatism, and are available in multifocal lenses.
Compatible solutions that will not damage* the Tangible Hydra-PEG coating are:
- Unique pH (Menicon)
- Boston Simplus (Bausch + Lomb)
- ClearCare (Alcon)
- ClearCare HydraGlyde (Alcon)
- Artificial Tear/Rewetting Drops that are approved for use with contact lenses
Solutions that may damage the Hydra-PEG coating are:
- Alcohol based solutions
- Abrasive solutions
- Enzymatic care solutions
We also recommend not rinsing your Hydra-PEG treated lenses with tap water.
Doing so will cause damage to the Hydra-PEG coating.
How are these lenses custom fit for me?
EasyFit lenses are as unique as you. All EasyFit lenses are custom made from precise data on high-tech, digital CNC lathing equipment. Your lenses are made to exact specifications based on the prescription from your eye exam. Special measuring tools and devices are use to fit your lenses.
Do EasyFit lenses help with dry eye?
Yes, they can. EasyFit lenses hold moisture in better and feel more comfortable on your eyes. For extreme cases of dry eye syndrome, these lenses are a useful addition to your current therapy, but are not likely to completely replace other things that you’re doing to manage your condition.
Can I add lubricating drops without removing the contacts?
Yes, but most patients usually find that lubricating drops are no longer necessary due to the liquid tear reservoir bathing the cornea.
Are EasyFit lenses expensive?
Though the per-lens cost is higher than some contacts, a single pair of EasyFit lenses can last from 1 to 2 years and is priced competitively to your annual supply costs of traditional lenses.
Do I need a special eye exam for EasyFit?
No. Only a comprehensive eye exam and a contact lens fitting.
How do I put them in and remove them?
First, always wash and dry your hands thoroughly before handling, inserting or removing your lenses. Depending on what you’re comfortable with, you can insert and remove your lenses with either your fingers or a plunger. Make sure you know what lens goes in which eye and inspect the lenses for cracks, chips or buildup. We’ll show you how to put in and take out your lenses for the best results, and how to add liquid to your lenses before inserting them, making sure you fill the lens bowl completely with doctor-recommended saline solution.
How do I care for my lenses?
It’s important to clean your lenses after you remove them. Place a lens in the palm of your hand and add a few drops of a recommended cleaning solution. Rub the lens gently with your index finger and then rinse the cleaning solution off with an approved rinsing solution. This will keep your lenses clear and comfortable. Store your lenses in containers with fresh solution each day and make sure to clean your containers regularly and let them dry whey you’re not storing your lenses. Using old solution or dirty containers can allow bacteria to grow.
