Empirical Ordering Fitting Guide 1-2-3
Empirical fitting is a time saver for everyone! Get your data in right the first time! Please be sure to follow these important suggestions.
Accurate Ks
K-values are most accurate when captured at the visual axis in a 3-4mm diameter. Suggested equipment:
- Manual Keratometer
- Nidek or Zeiss AutoRefractors or
- Nidek Wavefront OPDIII
- Atlas Humphries numerical map 3-4mm @ visual axis
- Topcon AutoRefractor
- Oculus
- Scout AutoRefractor
- We do not recommend using axial maps from topographers for empirical data
Corneal Diameter
A HVID measurement is important to making the EasyFit Custom Lens accurately. Today’s newer equipment offers corneal and pupil measurement features.
- Use HVID Ruler
- Make note of smaller than average or larger than average corneas
- Measure Pupil size in normal illumination if ordering multifocal designs
- Make note of eye dominance
